For the purposes of this policy, "we," "us," and "PetYupp" refer to ShopYupp Inc. dba PetYupp. "You" refers to anyone who visits petyupp.com or interacts with our services.

2 Information We Collect

Information you give us directly:

Name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses (at checkout)
Payment information (processed securely by Shopify Payments and other payment providers — we never see or store full card numbers)
Account credentials if you create a PetYupp account
Order history and product preferences
Product reviews and survey responses
Information about your dog (breed, size, age, dietary preferences) if you share it through our Breed Picker or AI advisor
Customer service correspondence (emails, chat messages, phone calls)

Information collected automatically:

Device information (browser type, operating system, screen size)
IP address and approximate location
Pages viewed, links clicked, time on site, referring URL
Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)

3 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Process and fulfill your orders, including shipping and customer service
Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, returns)
Send marketing emails about new products, promotions, and PetYupp news — only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe anytime
Improve our website, products, and customer experience
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
Comply with legal obligations (tax reporting, consumer protection law)
Personalize product recommendations through our AI advisor

4 Who We Share Information With

We never sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers who help us operate PetYupp:

Shopify, Inc. — our e-commerce platform; processes checkout, payments, and order data
Payment processors — Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay handle payment information directly under their own privacy policies
Shipping carriers — USPS, UPS, and FedEx receive the shipping address and contact info needed to deliver your order
Klaviyo — our email marketing platform; receives your email and engagement data only if you've opted into marketing
Cloudinary — hosts the product images you see on the site
Junip — collects and displays product reviews
Anthropic — powers our AI product advisor; receives anonymized question text, never your personal account data
Analytics providers — Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, and TikTok Pixel help us understand how visitors use our site (see Section 5 for opt-out instructions)

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights or the safety of others.

5 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, analyze site traffic, and personalize content.

Essential cookies are required for the site to work (cart, checkout, login). You can't disable these without breaking site functionality.

Analytics and marketing cookies help us understand traffic and run advertising. You can opt out by:

6 Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Correct — ask us to update inaccurate or incomplete information
Delete — ask us to delete your personal information (some data must be retained for tax and legal reasons)
Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from any marketing email or text anytime
Object to certain processing — ask us to stop using your data for certain purposes

To exercise any of these rights, email sales@petyupp.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and we'll respond within 30 days.

7 Marketing Communications

You'll only receive marketing emails or texts if you opted in (through a checkout checkbox, signup form, or popup). You can unsubscribe anytime by:

Clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email
Replying "STOP" to any marketing text message
Emailing us at sales@petyupp.com

You'll still receive transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates) since these are required to fulfill your purchases.

8 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

Right to know what personal information we've collected about you in the past 12 months
Right to delete the personal information we hold about you (with legal exceptions)
Right to correct inaccurate personal information
Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — we do not sell personal information, and we share it only with the service providers listed in Section 4
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information
Right to non-discrimination — we won't deny service or charge different prices for exercising your rights

To exercise any of these rights, email sales@petyupp.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We'll verify your identity using your order history or account email and respond within 45 days.

You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We'll require written proof of authorization before responding.

9 EU/UK Residents (GDPR)

PetYupp does not currently market to or actively serve customers in the EU or UK. If you're visiting from the EU or UK and would like us to delete any data we may have collected, email sales@petyupp.com and we'll process the request within 30 days.

10 Children's Privacy

PetYupp is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email sales@petyupp.com and we'll delete it.

11 Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

HTTPS/TLS encryption on every page
PCI-compliant payment processing (we never see or store credit card numbers)
Secure infrastructure provided by Shopify and Cloudflare
Access controls limiting who can view customer data internally

No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and notify you if a breach affects your information.

12 Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

Order and transaction records: 7 years (US tax law requirement)
Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe
Customer service correspondence: 3 years
Analytics data: typically 14 months (Google Analytics 4 default)

You can request deletion of your data anytime (see Section 6), subject to legal retention requirements.

13 International Data Transfers

PetYupp is based in the United States. If you access our site from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from your home country. By using PetYupp, you consent to this transfer.

14 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our business, technology, or legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via email to customers with active accounts.

Continued use of PetYupp after a policy update means you accept the revised terms.
